I began my career at Milk and Honey, NYC's original speakeasy, preserving cocktail craftsmanship. This led to photography and art direction in fashion. I'm a partner at La Flia in Puerto Escondido, a soul-enriching retreat, benefiting the local community. Now, a proud resident of Mexico City, I plan to create spaces for shared interests. I'm also a new mom, eager to build a supportive Hermanas community for moms. I have an 89-pound Doberman named Boo and love dog dates. I'm passionate about maternal health in CDMX and offer advice on doctors, prenatal care, and motherhood in a foreign land. Thrilled to be part of this powerful group of women!

HOW DO YOU EMBRACE DIVERSITY AND/OR UNCONVENTIONALITY?

Hello! I actually feel most settled in unconventional situations. I don't know... it makes me feel like I'm doing something right. I am also most comfortable with unconventional people as well, so pinpointing a time is difficult. But I could say that my move to Mexico City 2 years ago and my decision to have a child here as a woman in her 40s was a bit unconventional. After 21 years in New York City, I quit my job, left all my belongings, safe guards, contacts and securities to move to a country, culture and language that I love. This move has made my mind quite clear and singular.

HOW DO YOU EXPRESS YOURSELF CREATIVELY?

It changes over the years, but lately the only thing these days that really works is MOVEMENT. Let's be honest, I will never be called great dancer - there's no way! Ha!
But I use the Gaga Technique, developed by Ohad Naharin, A LOT!
It started a few years ago when I worked on a few video pieces with professional dancers demonstrating the technique. And then I tried it myself. It's a movement technique that helps with energetic release in different parts of the body.

When you give yourself the permission to let go, its pretty incredible what moves your body will make.
I equate it to Evangelists screaming in "tongues"

HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMUNITY? WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU ARE AN EXPERT IN AND COULD GIVE ADVICE TO THE COMMUNITY ON?

I think I could contribute in a number of ways to the Mexico City community.
Having lived here as an ex-pat for almost 2 years, I have navigated the processes of the Immigration Institute in getting my Permanent Residency, opened a Mexican company and dealt with the bureaucracy of SAT. (Servicio de Administración Tributaria)

I speak fluent Spanish and would be happy to help others avoid many of the first mistakes I made and share everything I've learned.

Also, as mentioned above, I'd love to start a Mother's Circle as I've also lived here while pregnant and gave birth here so navigating the medical system + giving health insurance guidance, and mental health support for all mothers I feel is vital.
