My name is Sharon, from sunny Namibia! I moved to Lisbon over a year ago. It was a big, life changing move that definitely showed me some flames, but here we are! I come from an art background, with a focus in Textiles (fibre art), as well as Clinical psychology, which was my initial dream career before I went full on artsy fartsy. At the moment, I work as an event videographer, and social media manager for small businesses.
HOW DO YOU EMBRACE DIVERSITY AND/OR UNCONVENTIONALITY?
I embrace diversity by being curious and open minded to learning from different people and experiences. In my opinion, that's the zest of life! My personal life journey allows me to embrace changes and differences as they come along, and to take it in stride. This is probably due to moving around a lot as a child, where adaptability was the running theme, which I am grateful for.
HOW DO YOU EXPRESS YOURSELF CREATIVELY?
By being curious, and taking in and observing my surrounding silently. I also enjoy being loud and excitable about my creativity when the occasion calls for it. There's a special aspect that I enjoy to explore, whether that be with textile art (weaving, batik, screen printing), or film making, they all tell a story in their own way, and that's what inspires me the most.
HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMUNITY? WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU ARE AN EXPERT IN AND COULD GIVE ADVICE TO THE COMMUNITY ON?
I can contribute by being kind, and being of help or support where I can. Interact and hopefully collaborate with other creative and innovative women in the community
