I am a new entrepreneur who is dedicated to making impact in the world and shift my knowledge and expertise into a new field. I have worked in high school education at a public progressive international high school in NYC that served recently arrived immigrants for the past 13 years. I am looking for mentorship and like minded people that are interested in progress and making the world a better place. Specifically, I am shifting into the tech and music world. A pivot that I am excited about and looking forward towards creating change within the industry.
HOW DO YOU EMBRACE DIVERSITY AND/OR UNCONVENTIONALITY?
My passion through the years have been consistent. I value culture, language, music and travel. I feel like those things are the ties that bind and help me navigate and explore myself through different lenses. I speak 4 languages, lived in 3 countries and specifically chose a career path that exposed me to engagement with people from around the world from different backgrounds and ways of life. I love to build teams with as many perspectives as I can to have the best possible result and this comes organically when diversity is forefront.
HOW DO YOU EXPRESS YOURSELF CREATIVELY?
My main expression of creativity stems from music and dancing. I have always considered myself artist adjacent, however, I excel at creating unique ways to deliver material when teaching something and creative problem solving when faced with difficult scenarios.
HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMUNITY? WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU ARE AN EXPERT IN AND COULD GIVE ADVICE TO THE COMMUNITY ON?
I am an expert in English as a New Language pedagogy, I have consulted with a variety of state and city level educational systems and worked with recently arrived immigrants in NYC. I have years of training in building teams and can mentor in building trust within teams as well as creating a positive work environment through inquiry and tweaks in the system (improvement science).
