I am english, I live and work in Stockholm. I believe that art has a power to show people other ways of thinking and being and to bring happiness! The visual language is so wonderful because it overwhelms you and gives you space to have your own experience.I mainly work with oil paint on canvas and paper. Being an artist can be kind of lonely so I love working with people on projects and collaborations! I just did a collab with clothing company Zadig & Voltaire where they took my paintings and created prints and embroideries for their A/W 23 and S/S 24 collections which was a lot of fun.
HOW DO YOU EMBRACE DIVERSITY AND/OR UNCONVENTIONALITY?
I think when you work creatively your life is very unconventional and you become very open and actively look for diversity and different perspectives from people and situations. When I paint people i feel like it is a form of caring for them and celebrating them, painting welcomes everyone.
HOW DO YOU EXPRESS YOURSELF CREATIVELY?
By painting! And drawing, and looking and seeing, and then reinterpreting that through my hand into colour and form. I also play the harp quite badly, and I love to do that, music is another way to travel.
HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMUNITY? WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU ARE AN EXPERT IN AND COULD GIVE ADVICE TO THE COMMUNITY ON?
I would like to share my art and my practice with the community and see where that takes me, if it resonates with someone and we can make a collaboration or a special kind of project, I would love to work with people or companies to create new things. I would be very happy to mentor or help people with their artistic practice :)
