HOW DO YOU EMBRACE DIVERSITY AND/OR UNCONVENTIONALITY?
I pursued my studies in art, specializing in documentary photography. Most of my professional experience has been spent documenting projects for nonprofit organizations. My work took me to both national and international agencies, some of the most prominent being ProNatura, OXFAM GB, The Nature Conservancy, UN-Habitat, and RainForest Alliance. My lens has captured an array of themes - social issues, environmental concerns, public health, housing, natural disasters, sustainable development projects, carbon sequestration (REDD+), food crises, fair trade, and extreme poverty among many others. While documenting projects for such diverse NGOs, I gained an up-close understanding of the complex aspects related to sustainability. It's provided me with a hands-on and human perspective of the unsustainability of the system. You can't definitely separate social and economic aspects from the environmental. I've always been drawn to projects aimed at creating a positive impact. Nowadays, innovation, incorporating circular economy into production processes, and impact investment projects are what I am most passionate about. I strongly believe that the industry has a crucial role to play on the path to sustainability, for better or for worse.
HOW DO YOU EXPRESS YOURSELF CREATIVELY?
My creativity comes to life when I tune into my innate curiosity. There's an stimulating rush that accompanies the act of delving into new realms of knowledge, and I enjoy every bit of it. The thrill of the unknown, the provoking prospect of expanding my understanding, is what propels me forward. Learning new things isn't just an intellectual pursuit for me—it's a way to breathe life into my creative spirit. When I plunge into a new skill or concept, I'm not merely accumulating information. I'm solving a puzzle with ideas and experiences that enrich my perspective and inspire my creativity. There is an art in the act of learning—the interpretation of facts, the interplay of ideas, and the moment when understanding dawns. Creativity for me is this dynamic, constantly evolving journey guided by my passion to solve problems that truly matter. It's a wild ride, full of discovery and endless potential of human imagination and determination.
HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMUNITY? WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU ARE AN EXPERT IN AND COULD GIVE ADVICE TO THE COMMUNITY ON?
I'm excited to contribute to this community with the diverse experiences I've collected throughout my life. My background in art and photography not only cultivated my creative eye but it's also taught me to view the world from multiple angles. My openness to learn from everyone I encounter means I'm constantly growing, and always adapting. Moreover, my current engagement in the sustainable fashion industry equips me with the knowledge I'm eager to share. I look forward to bringing these unique insights to our community, enriching our collective perspective as we work towards our shared sustainability goals.
