I'm Desiree, born in Malaysia, raised in Japan, The United States, and now living in Lisbon, Portugal. As an avid traveler, I recognized the need to be reciprocal in the spaces I find myself, not just as a visitor but also as taking responsibility for the ecosystem that already exists within the place, this is my philosophy. I wear many hats, as a visual artist, a photographer, a travel/cultural curator, and an entrepreneur.
As a person with multitudes, I would love to connect with other women who also find a passion for connecting with the globe through curiosity, compassion, and respect. While continuing to develop new entrepreneurial artistic projects in a fluctuating economy and revolutionary time, it would be great to share and collaborate with others who dare to dream of a more expansive reality together.
HOW DO YOU EMBRACE DIVERSITY AND/OR UNCONVENTIONALITY?
Truthfully, I don't have to 'embrace' diversity considering that my worldview is inherently diverse. As a mixed-race, multicultural, self-proclaimed third-culture kid, my existence is unconventional. The effort I continue to make in operating 'diversely' is to engage in topics, cultures, histories, and other forms of knowledge building with an open heart and ears. I enter spaces with humility and humbleness through curiosity and deep listening, especially when I am not well-versed in the topics at hand. It is wonderful to learn from other people's experiences and their unconventional ways of being.
HOW DO YOU EXPRESS YOURSELF CREATIVELY?
My creative expressions manifest through art, photography, cultural events, and travel. I am passionate about all aspects of art and travel and continuously seek innovative ways to merge these interests into a cohesive and expansive form.

Having worked in the photography and arts industry for over 10 years, I am eager to share my skills and knowledge. My expertise includes photography, photo editing, retouching, and insights into industry processes. Additionally, as an avid traveler who has lived in multiple countries, I am passionate about contributing to the travel community, particularly with insights and experiences from the Southeast Asian region.
