I’m Alessandra Cruz. I was born and raised on Miami Beach to Cuban parents. During my life I’ve lived in London, Florence, and Costa Rica. I am a writer, yoga instructor, art-lover, traveler, dreamer and believer. I work at The RealReal sourcing clothing for the circular fashion economy. I am the founder and creator of Nosotras a Miami based women circle and supper club taking place every new moon in a secret garden.
My entire life is a ceremony, a devotion. My life’s work is to have others see the light that lies within them.
HOW DO YOU EMBRACE DIVERSITY AND/OR UNCONVENTIONALITY?
A life that is predictable or filled with sameness is boring to me. The world we live is can be narrow and so we must consciously undergo multiple metamorphosis to become our most dynamic interesting self. I even enjoy hearing someone's opposing political views. Diversity keeps life interesting. I was born on Miami Beach to cuban parents surrounded by orthodox jewish families to my right and a wild puerto rican/ iranian family to my left. At 19 I moved to London alone. Diversity is all I know and all I chose to know.
HOW DO YOU EXPRESS YOURSELF CREATIVELY?
Creativity is not a far away concept for me. It is the life force energy that runs through me and all around me. Creativity snakes through the dirt and dances in the heavens. I express myself creatively through the way I speak with others, the music I consciously play given the hour, the day or the season. In the way I dance in my room alone or the way my venusian soul adorns my home. My creativity spills out in the essays that I write or in the energetic containers I create for my students. My life is an orchestra and I am the conductor.
HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE TO THE COMMUNITY? WHAT DO YOU FEEL YOU ARE AN EXPERT IN AND COULD GIVE ADVICE TO THE COMMUNITY ON?
Every new moon I host women's circles and supper clubs. Simply by bringing women together the magic happens. The rest is all a lovely addition. I have a way of making women feel safe, understood, and inspired by one another. By bringing woman together collectively their individuality blooms. They are less threatened by each-other and more seen. I am well read in topics such as Celtic witch-craft, astrology, yin yoga and kundalini yoga. I am an avid traveler with a list of hot-spots and secret spots from here to the moon.
