I'm unconventional in my life every day; I am constantly trying to do things that make me uncomfortable (in a productive manner), challenge the norm, and honestly, ones that many people haven't thought of yet.
If I were to tell you a specific time in my life that I've been unconventional, it was about three years ago when I decided to move to Costa Rica for 6 months during covid. This really impacted my family and friends, and not necessarily in the most positive way; it worried my mom, dad, and older brothers because I had never traveled on my own for such a long period of time, my friends were quite fearful of my mental health deteriorating even more because I had been going through a lot of personal stuff, and it impacted me in ways that I could write books about.
Ever since that trip to Costa Rica, I decided that I had to work remotely - no ifs, ands or buts. I switched jobs while I was down there and I haven't looked back since. My mental health sure, took a bit of a decline for some parts of that trip, but if I didn't go through that, I wouldn't be here today.
Overall, that time in my life introduced people to me that taught me who I truly am as a person. I hated myself going into that trip, was struggling financially as well, and was really not in a good place. However, it taught me the value of life and the importance of traveling.
